Jerry DeWayne Yarnell, 45 of Springfield passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2020 in Springfield surrounded by his family at Cox South Hospital.
He was born October 18, 1974 in Springfield to Gerald and Judy (Ellis) Yarnell. He graduated from Kickapoo High School in 1993. He was a business owner and a United States Coast Guard Master Boat Captain. Jerry had a deep love for his family and friends. His great smile, gentle heart, teddy bear personality and giant hugs will be greatly missed. He had a love of boats and Table Rock Lake and was a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone while expecting nothing in return. His sisters were very special to him and he often referred to himself as having "3 moms." He was very proud of his children, loved his wife's good cooking, and enjoyed time spent with his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Susie Wampler and his beloved dog Casey.
He is survived by his wife, Crystal Yarnell of Springfield; daughters Grace Yarnell of Springfield, Fallon Yarnell of Rogersville and Torrance Yarnell of Rogersville; son, Tristan Yarnell of Rogersville; mother, Judy Yarnell of Springfield; father, Gerald Yarnell of Ozark; father-in-law Wayne Wampler of Springfield; sisters Becky Herron (Marc) of Springfield and Tammy Dickerson (Shaun) of Lebanon; nieces Tandee Ferguson (Greg), Danika Wolf (Tristan) and Kayla Herron; nephews Victory Dickerson and Riley Herron, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and other close family and friends.
Memorial Services will be held Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 6:00 PM at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:30 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Laclede County Pregnancy Support Center of Lebanon, PO Box 373, Lebanon, MO 65536, www.psclebanon.org
