Jerry D. Stokes, 72, passed away on January 25, 2019 in Springfield. He was born April 24, 1946 in Waynesville, Missouri to Larry "Doyle" and Velma (Whittle) Stokes. He was a 1964 graduate of Crocker, Missouri High School, and attended College of the Ozarks. He served in the U.S. Army for three years, and spent 38 years selling cameras and photography equipment at Lawrence Photo and Video, where he was known for personal and friendly service. Many of his customers become lifelong friends.

Jerry met his wife of 42 years when he sold her a camera. They married October 8, 1976. Jerry is survived by his wife, Mary Patricia "Pat" (Tucker) Stokes; daughter Kathleen (Matthew) Pattison; son Michael Stokes; brothers Don and Tom Stokes; sisters Anita Stokes and Nadine Breunig; three grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Memorial donations can be made to Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri or the Missouri Department of Conservation.
