Redfearn
September 23, 1941 – December 26, 2022
Jerry W. Redfearn, 81 of Springfield passed away Monday, December 26, 2022 at his home after a battle with cancer. He was born September 23, 1941 in Springfield to George William and Blanche Long Redfearn. He graduated from Central High School in 1959. While attending SMS he met and married the love of his life Mary V. Redfearn on December 29, 1961. He served in the National Guard from 1963-1969.
He started his career in the automotive industry at Terrell Phelps and then BF Goodrich. After enjoying many years as General Manager at O'Reilly Auto Parts he left to pursue his dream of owning his own business by starting Springfield Parts Warehouse/Road Pro Auto Parts. Shortly after retirement he found a passion for real estate. He was a commercial real estate agent for Carol Jones Realtors.
He volunteered with many organizations such as Campaign Chairman for the United Way in 1977, he was a Mens Bears Basketball Booster for 40 years. He was a member since 1981 of Twin Oaks Country Club and was club President in 1997. He was a longtime member of First and Calvary Presbyterian Church and served as a Trustee as well as many committees including the Building and Grounds committee.
In addition to his parents and two siblings, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary.
Jerry is survived by son, David Redfearn and wife, Jami; daughter, Lari Jump and husband, Rob; grandsons, Owen Jump and Josh Redfearn and bonus grandchildren, Maci, Lilli, and Jack; his wonderful companion for the last 12 years, Sandra Lowther who enriched his social life and many happy years of traveling together; sisters, Patty Haller and husband, Bill and Peri Redfearn; niece, nephew and countless friends from every stage of his life.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 10 AM at First and Calvary Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow under the care of Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First and Calvary Presbyterian Church, 820 E. Cherry St., Springfield, MO 65806 or American Cancer Society.
