Jerry R. Horton, 88, passed away on December 22, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Horton, daughters, Julie and Marci Horton and son-in-law Richard Davis.

Jerry is a native of Springfield and graduated from Strafford High School and Southwest Missouri State, now Missouri State.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Lawson Horton, his father Claude L. Horton and brother Jackie Horton.

He and his wife owned clothing stores in Missouri and Arkansas for 43 years.

Jerry's true passion was his cow-calf operation where he raised black angus cattle since the 1980s. He treasured the history and stories of Springfield never taking for granted people's struggles and hardships in life. His appreciation and love for family, friendship, and heritage will always be treasured.

A private memorial service will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a charitable donation of your choice.
