Obituary

Jerry Lee Enyart, 79, of Springfield, MO passed away January 2, 2024, just shy of his 80th birthday.  He was born February 18, 1944 to Virgil and Eva Enyart in Halfway, MO.  On October 15, 1979, Jerry and Koreena McKinney were united in marriage and had just celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary.

Jerry was baptized in Christ in 1974 and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.  He was a 1962 graduate of Halfway High School.  Shortly after high school Jerry went to work for Associated Wholesale Grocers for over 30 years as a Forklift Operator.  He was also a proud member of the Teamsters 245.  After retirement Jerry also worked at the 166 Auto Auction for several years.

Jerry was an avid runner for many years where he trained himself by running 50-70 miles a week and competed in several local marathons.  The results of these local marathons qualified him for his largest goal of competing in the Boston Marathon in 1990 at the age of 46.  His other hobbies and interests included watching and attending many Nascar races, watching Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys football and traveling the country on many Marsh Travel bus tours with wife Koreena.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Eva Enyart, two brothers Robert Enyart and Larry Enyart, daughter-in-law Laura Enyart and grandson Eric Enyart.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Koreena Enyart of the home;  sons David Enyart, Ash Grove, MO and Greg Enyart and wife Cindy of Fort Myers, FL; daughter Keri Peters and husband Carter of Springfield; 6 grandchildren, Kelsey Enyart, Allison Enyart, Isaiah Bauer, Jacob Bauer, Katelin Kelley and Zach Peters and 7 great-grandchildren.
