If you knew Jerry, you knew he was determined to drive a truck before he could even tie his own shoes.

Jerry Wayne Dowdy was born on May 3, 1954 to Vernell and Ed Dowdy in Sacramento, California. His childhood was shaped by an imagination that comes only from taking struggles in stride. Jerry used that imagination to create toy cars out of wooden blocks, much like he took the worst in life and turned it into a beautiful life.

The first chapter of his beautiful life began when he met his eventual wife of 52 years, Martha, in 1969. Since then, they have raised three wonderful children: Vanessa, Amy and James.

He spent much of his beautiful life on the road through his trucking career. While on the road, he witnessed some of God's greatest masterpieces and shared his testimony to anyone who would listen.

We will forever remember him as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Ozark Full Gospel Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
