Obituary

Jennifer "Jenny" Lindsey passed away March 16, 2009. She was born on September 13, 1983, in Roswell, New Mexico. Her and her family moved back to Springfield when she was a little girl. Everyone that knew Jenny realized that she was special. Jenny always had a smile on her face and was often called "A Happy Camper!" She graduated from Glendale High School where she worked in the BASE program at Cox Walnut Lawn Hospital. After graduation she worked at the Springfield Workshop until October 2008. She was very involved with Champions of the Ozarks and Arc of the Ozarks. Jenny was also a Camp Barnabas camper every summer. Camp Barnabas was truly one of her favorite things to do. It was a special place where she could be normal with all her friends. Jenny was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and attended the "Special Friends" small group. She loved all the outings the group took, especially the ones to Branson. Jenny was preceded in death by her grandparents, Drury and Faye Lindsey. She is survived by her parents, Dan and Linda Lindsey; a brother, Matthew Lindsey; grandparents, Herb and Maurine Orth; Uncles and Aunts, Steve and Jan Lindsey and Jay and Lynn Loveland, and many cousins that she adored. Jenny had a compassionate and caring soul for others. She would often take the sports page of the newspaper to work at the workshop and read it to her friends. Jenny touched a lot of lives in her short time with us. She will be greatly missed by everyone and never forgotten. Jenny is one of God's special angels. The family would like to thank The Manor Nursing Home, Community Hospice and Cox South Neuro 8th floor nursing staff for everything that you did for Jenny. Your caring souls were greatly appreciated. Visitation will be at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2009. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2009, in Louisburg Cemetery, Louisburg, Mo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to Springfield Workshop, 2835 W. Bennett, Springfield, MO 65802.
