Obituary

Jeffrey Allen Parks entered Heaven on Friday, March 10 th , 2023.  Jeff had been at Cox Medical Center in Springfield, MO.  Jeff was born on June 9th, 1962, in Shawnee Mission, KS to Charles and Joyce Parks.  Joyce was later re-married to Gary Lipsis, and together, they made a home for Jeff and his siblings in Clinton, Mo.  He attended Clinton High School and graduated in 1980.  After high school, Jeff moved to Ventura, CA where he spent many good years with his father.  He loved The Grateful Dead and was Jerry's #1 fan.  After living in Colorado for a few years, Jeff returned to Clinton; finally, he was back home closer to his family and friends.  Since 2016, Jeff called Springfield, MO home.  He had his mother and two sisters just miles away, while his brother was only a few hours away in Tulsa.
Jeff was unlike most; he had a heart of gold. He loved his friends and his family with his whole heart and really cherished the times he had with them.  He had a gentle soul.  He loved to play the guitar for you and sing a few lines from a favorite song.  He loved being an uncle to Noah, Isaiah, and Aspen.  His love ran deep.  Once, about a year ago when he had a long hospital stay, the hospital made special arrangements for his sister to bring up Presley (a golden retriever puppy) whom he absolutely adored.  When the door opened and they saw each other, there wasn't a dry eye in the room.  Presley got up on the hospital bed, made sure Jeff was alright, settled next to him, and kept him company for an hour or so. Jeff was able to go home a couple of days later. Strangers weren't strangers for long, he would strike up a conversation with anyone. He was a kid at heart.

Jeff had been fighting several medical issues for quite some time. He had the strength to overcome serious illnesses many times, but he just did not have it in him this last time.  He left us way too soon, but now he can take a big, deep breath of Heaven's air and is walking with our mother and all those he loved who left before him.  How wonderful.  He has probably already played his guitar for everyone! To anyone who knew Jeff, please take a second to close your eyes and picture him along with a memory. Jeff is a donor for Saving Sight. He would be proud to know this. Someone will see life through his eyes now..... I'm proud of you big brother. I miss you more than I can say. All my love.  Jeff is survived by his brother, Christopher Parks, and his wife Kelly of Tulsa, OK, and sisters, Carrie Quesenberry of Springfield, MO, and Sherri Spachman of Kansas City, MO.  Noah, Isaiah, and Aspen Parks of Tulsa, OK.  Extended family and many friends from coast to coast.  The family has planned cremation with a celebration of life planned at a future time.
