Jeffrey Gordon McAfee, 60, of Springfield, Missouri passed away Friday, November 30, 2012 in Cox South Hospital after a seven week battle with cancer. He was born on June 8, 1952 in Memphis, Tennessee to Dr. Robert Gordon and Alfreda Kathleen Sisk McAfee. He graduated from high school in Garden City, Kansas in 1971. After graduation, he entered military service in the United States Army and served in Vietnam. Jeffrey was a volunteer and supporter of Center City Christian Outreach and the Well of Life Food Pantry. Jeffrey was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping, hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Jeffrey was preceded in death by a brother, Phil McAfee and a sister, Alfreda Baskette. Jeffrey is survived by his parents, Gordon McAfee and wife, Marilyn Vinson McAfee, of Springfield, Missouri; Alfreda McAfee of Johnson City, Tennessee; son, Jason G. McAfee and his wife Elisabeth of Liberal, Kansas; four grandchildren, Jasmine Williams, Esmé, Jack, and Lucy McAfee; one great-grandchild; brother, Steven McAfee of Orlando, Florida; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Dolores Gonzalez of Garden City, Kansas. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church, 1550 North Western Avenue, Liberal, Kansas 67901.
