Jeffrey Alan Birkenfeld, age 44, died Friday, October 22, 2010. He is survived by wife Jeannine; two daughters, Stella and Genevieve; his father, Andrew Birkenfeld; his brothers, Philip and Daniel; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Adamson. A loving father and husband, Jeff spent the past 12 years working for John Deere ReMan Springfield. Prior to that, he was employed as a radio DJ for several local radio stations. A lifelong tinkerer and gearhead, Jeff will be remembered for his mechanical savvy and love of vintage Volkswagens. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., Sunday in the funeral home. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, October 25, 2010, in Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Reverend Fergus Monaghan celebrant under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel.
