Jeannette H. Berry, 96, Springfield, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015 in Magnolia Square. She was born November 16, 1918 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late Dr. Claude Dewain and Bess Eva (Williams) Houston. She was a graduate of William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri. Jeannette worked as a paralegal for Judge Jack Applequist and medical receptionist for Dr. Paul Berry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, the Reverend Frank Dickenson Tate. Jeannette is survived by her husband of 42 years, Paul Thomas Berry, M.D.; two sons, Frank Dickenson Tate and wife, Theresa; and Kitron Houston Tate; a daughter, Candace Tate; three step-children, David Paul Berry and wife, Jan; Diana Carol Burke and husband, Michael; and Susan Elaine Doney and husband, David; six grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Jeannette's family would like to say a special thank you to her special angels for their excellent care, Margo Armstrong and DeAnna Lindsey. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2015 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Burial will be at a later date in Valhalla Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. No visitation is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or the charity of your choice.
