Jean Wright of Powder Springs, GA passed away peacefully on December 20, 2014. Jean was born in Buffalo, KS in 1918 the daughter of Galin and Mary Wheeler. Jean lived most of her life in Springfield, MO where she was an elementary school teacher and principal at Watkins elementary. She earned a master's degree from what is today Missouri State University and attended Columbia University in New York. Jean was always full of love of life and lived it to the fullest. Jean now joins her beloved husband Bernard of 50 years in Heaven after his passing in 1991. Jean is survived by two sons and their wives; Randy and Vicky of Acworth, GA and Ron and Judith of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Jean had two grandchildren, Jason and his wife Tanya of Scottsdale, AZ and Renee Wright of Acworth, GA. Jean leaves behind two great grandchildren, Tiger and Ruby Pearson. Jean is also survived by her nieces Joyce Faulstick of Carlsbad, CA, Pat Dietrich of Phoenix, AZ and Diana Wheeler of Mission, KS. Jean was a long time member of South Street Christian Church in Springfield, MO. A celebration of life will be held there on Tuesday December 30th at 1 PM under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. No formal visitation is planned. However, friends may call the funeral home anytime after 1 pm on Monday. Final resting place will be next to Bernard in Hazelwood cemetery.
