Jean Sinclair Skillings, 83, of Springfield, Missouri, died on November 9, 2014. Visitation will be 6:30 pm on Thursday, November 13 at First & Calvary Presbyterian Church in Springfield, MO. Funeral services will be held 10:30am on Friday, November 15 at First & Calvary Presbyterian Church in Springfield, MO with Dr. Andrew Chaney officiating. Arrangements are by Gorman-Scharpf. Jean Sinclair Skillings was born in Allerton, IA to John & Blanche Sinclair on February 17, 1931. She graduated from Corydon High School. Jean married John Wesley Skillings on August 21, 1952 in Tarkio, MO. She graduated Summa cum laude from Tarkio College. She worked as a biology teacher and librarian. Jean is preceded in death by sister Alice Herbert. Jean is survived by husband John Wesley Skillings; son Byron Skillings & wife Linda, daughter Kirsten Dale & husband Chris, daughter Gretchen Russell & husband Kelly; sister Clara Blair, brother John Sinclair, brother Robert Sinclair; 12 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be given to Binnie Clements Guild or Presbyterian Women c/o First & Calvary Presbyterian Church.
