Jean Michels, 82, of Springfield, passed away on October 19, 2018. Jean was loved by anyone and everyone that ever met her. She was a beautiful soul inside and out and will be greatly missed. She was a member of Broadway Methodist Church.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, George Michels, her parents, Ross and Bernice Essary, and her brother, Jim.

She is survived by her daughters, Mitzi and Robin Michels; grandsons, Jacob Secker and Aaron Michels; the love of her life, her great grandson Jett Young; sisters, Deena Dendinger, Faye Jenkins, Kaye Gamblin, Roxie Mitchell, and Lela Hunter; brothers, Jack "Chirp" and Paul "Buzz" Essary; and many other close family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 12:30 PM at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, October 22 in the funeral home.
