Jean Alice Erickson, 93, Springfield, MO, passed away on April 9, 2016 in her home, surrounded by her five children, who loved her very much.
She was born July 13, 1922 in McCracken, MO, the daughter of Homer and Eunice Whittenburg. She lived in Springfield over 60 years enjoying travel, golf at Twin Oaks and celebrating holidays at home with her family. For many years, she was a volunteer with St. John's Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Annabelle Smith and Betty Ramsey. She was married to Alton Lomax and John Erickson, both who preceded her in death.
Jean is survived by three sons, Mike Lomax and wife, Suzanne; Kirk Erickson and wife, Renee; and Doug Erickson, all Springfield; two daughters, Linda Purvis, Branson; and Kris Ogilvie and husband, Jeff, Houston, TX; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2016 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with visitation to follow. Private burial will be in Maple Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater MO Chapter, 1630 West Elfindale Street, Springfield, MO 65804.
