Wilma Jean Bledsoe, 83, of Springfield, Mo passed peacefully on December 1, 2015 at the Maples. She was born August 31, 1932 in Tell City, Indiana where she graduated from Tell City High School in 1950. She was united in marriage to Winston Bledsoe in 1954. In 1970, she and her family moved to Springfield where she lived until her death. She was a homemaker most of her married life. She enjoyed working in the yard, playing bridge, golf and Jeopardy. She was active in many programs to better the lives of the mentally disabled. She served as President of the Board for the Adult Developmentally Disabled Day School for ten years. She owned Ozark Home Health Care and Springfield Home Health Care from 1983 to 1993. Jean was a parishioner at St. Elizabeth Seton Church and a member of Millwood Country Club. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Winston and two sons, Philip and his wife Cindy of Denver, Co and Robert of the home. Her son Dan, of Springfield, preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters and 4 brothers. Jean has two grandchildren, Jacki Bledsoe of Centennial Co and Cory Bledsoe of Springfield. Visitation will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, December 8, 2015 followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at the Brentwood Chapel, Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E Seminole in Springfield. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Southwest Missouri Office on Aging Foundation.
