IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jayne Beth
Brown
January 31, 1959 – October 18, 2020
Jayne Beth Brown, a longtime resident of Springfield MO, passed away on Sunday, October 18 at 61 years old.
She is survived by her mother Marsha Cox, her sister Jenny and husband Donnie Taylor, her brother Bryan and wife Pam Cox, her daughter Allison and husband Thad Mayes, and her beloved grandson William Mayes.
She is preceded in death by her father Bud Cox, and sister Julie Cox.
Jayne was born in Springfield MO on January 31, 1959. She graduated from Glendale High School in 1977. After high school, she went on to work with her father and siblings at the family business, Engineers Reprographics. She worked there for many years until 1998 when she decided to follow her passion and become a teacher. She graduated from Missouri State University with a bachelor's in education and went on to teach 5 th grade in Ozark MO for many years. She retired in 2009.
Her family and friends were the most important thing to her. Especially her daughter Allison, whom she often referred to as the "diamond of her life". In April 2020, her dream of being a grandmother came true when her grandson William was born. She loved being a "Nana" more than anything.
She also loved animals. Most of her pets were found on the streets or came from a rescue. She always stopped and offered help to any stray or lost dog that crossed her path. She often joked that there was an invisible neon sign over her house that said, "Strays Welcome Here".
A casual visitation will be held at a later date, but online condolences can be made through the Gorman-Scharpf website. In lieu of flowers, she would have wanted donations made to the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri.
