December 31, 1937 – January 26, 2016
Janice was born December 31, 1937 in Pittsburg, KS to William and Rose (Morando) Purdon. She attended St. Mary's. She worked at Southwest Bell and later was elected Clerk of the District Court. She held that position until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church where she was active in several guilds. She was also involved with the Knights of Columbus Striking Out for the Kitchen Bowl-A-Thon.
She was a dedicated volunteer at Mercy Hospital for 25 years.
Janice married Ralph Telscher in 1990. He survives of the home in Springfield, MO.
She is survived by her children Jana (Don) Hartshorn and Kurt (Linda) Caruthers; step-children Stephen (Sharon) Telscher, Cynthia (Bob) Perschbacher and Mark (Karrie) Telscher; sister-in-law Joyce Purdon; nephews Jeff (Robin) and Keven (Sonja) Purdon. She also has 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Dennis Purdon.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am, Friday, January 29, 2016 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Springfield, MO. Graveside services will be at 3:30pm, Friday in St. Mary's Cemetery, Pittsburg, KS.
Prayer Service will be Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 4:00pm in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, with visitation to follow until 8:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Kitchen, 1630 N. Jefferson Ave, Springfield, MO 65803.
