Obituary

Janice G. Maruschak was born in Bozeman, Montana on January 16,1921. She attended college at Montana State University obtaining a BS in Home Economics. She did an internship at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH as a Therapeutic Dietician where she met her future husband, John Maruschak. She was a member of the American Dietetic Association and the American Association of University Women.

They have three daughters; Maria Jean (Maruschak) Brown, Beth Marlene (Maruschak) Engbrecht, and Ruth Jan Maruschak; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. John passed away in 1990.

Janice moved to Springfield, Mo in 1995 where she met H. P. Edmonson at the Northside Senior Center. They dated for ten years. They traveled to Israel, visited his family, and enjoyed eating out. They came to many of the dinners at Covenant Presbyterian Church. When mother could get out, she attended the Ladies Bible Study group at Covenant.

Janice had many different talents such as sewing, music, reading, and painting. When she lived in Hammond, Indiana, she was the organist at St. Michael's Urkanian Orthodox Church for two years. She accompanied Hammond, Indiana's Neighborhood Student Musiciains at recitals and contests . She also played for an Assembly of God church in Lombard, IL.

She became homebound near the end of her life and was content to sit and watch TV. She loved old reruns such as Andy Griffith Show, Mayberry R.F.D., and Mash. She would say she did so well because Maria & David took good care of her. Janice passed away on September 26 at home as she wanted.

Any memorials should be made to the Choir of Covenant Presbyterian Church.
