IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jane Drake
Enloe
August 31, 1945 – April 27, 2022
Jane Drake Enloe was called home to be with the Lord on the morning of April 27th, 2022, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, MO. With her daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren by her side, she took her last breath just as her family completed their daily prayer.
Jane was born on August 31st, 1945, in Pittsfield, MA to Leon and Ruth Reynolds Drake. She spent her childhood and early adult years growing up here where she was a member of the Dalton United Methodist Church and worked for the Berkshire County Savings Bank. She was united in marriage to Woodrow Enloe on March 4th, 1973. They loved to kick back with a cold beer and entertain with friends or spend time snowmobiling. They owned and operated the Cummington General Store before moving to Springfield, MO.
After moving to Springfield, she worked at Great Southern Bank where she was a dedicated, hard-working employee for 44 years, even going into labor on the teller line (with her husband standing in line), and working up until her recent hospitalization and death. Jane was also an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church where she served on the hospitality team for several years.
Jane's life on this Earth ended the same way she spent so many years living it; with strength, courage, and surrounded by her family that she loved so dearly. After being widowed in 1994, she successfully raised a daughter alone. After being diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2001, she endured many years of physical and emotional pain including numerous treatments, tests, and two reoccurrences.
In spite of the suffering, she persevered with the love and support of family and friends, especially her daughter Morgan and son-in-law Shawn, while maintaining her spirited sass and love for people. We hope that her grace and courage in the face of adversity will be her lasting legacy and an inspiration to others.
Jane was preceded in death by husband Woodrow "Woody" Enloe and parents Leon and Ruth Reynolds Drake. She is survived by daughter and favorite son-in-law Morgan and Shawn Stafford; grandsons Drake and Greyson Stafford; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Cathy Drake of Dalton, MA; nephews Chris Drake Jr. of Dalton, MA and Chad and Anna Drake of Peru, MA; great nephew Carter Drake and great niece Delaney Drake.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 2, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, May 3, at 11:00 am, also at the Funeral Home, with Pastor Mark Terrill officiating.
