Jan Alan Sarff passed away Friday, October 17, 2025 at  his home in Springfield after an extended illness. He was born April 19, 1949 in Canton, Illinois to Max R. Sarff and Donna (Mace) Sarff. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Julianne (Kollmeier) Sarff; son, Brett Sarff and his wife Chelsea; granddaughter, Violet Sarff; brother, Randy Sarff and his wife Coleen; brother-in-law, Bob Kollmeier and his wife Wendy; niece, Chelsey Kollmeier and her husband Max Cazort; great-nephew, Oliver Cazort and numerous cousins and friends.

Jan graduated from Arlington High School in Arlington Heights, IL and attended Southwest Missouri State University. He had a lengthy career as Manager and District Manager with Kinney Shoes and Kids Foot Locker in several different states. In Springfield, he enjoyed working as a realtor and in retail.

He enjoyed family and friends, golf, fishing, the beach, and traveling, especially cruising. Jan was a member of Springfield Host Lions Club.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, with Visitation from 12:00 – 1:00 PM, on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
