Janice "Jan" L. Pitts was born on June 11, 1948, and departed this life August 7, 2024. Preceding Jan in death are her father and mother, Walter and Orlena (Pyeatt) Woolery. Jan was born in Springfield, MO, and resided in Rogersville, MO, through graduation from Rogersville H.S. She attended Southwest Missouri State University while employed at Consumers Markets in Springfield. She worked her way up to manager at Consumers Market. Jan was subsequently employed by Walmart as a store manager, which rounded out her career in a retail grocery until 2012, when a medical issue necessitated her retirement. Jan accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior when she was a preteen at Harmony Baptist Church, in Rogersville, MO. Surviving Jan is her best friend and longtime caregiver, Jeanne Shipley, of the home; her sister, Sharon Scheiderer and husband Carroll, of Springfield MO; her niece Kimberly Borders and husband Rob, of Bluegrass, VA; her great nephew, Evan Borders, of Richmond, VA; her great niece, Katie Baldwin and her husband Seth, and their son, Ambrose, of Arlington VA; along with several step nieces and nephews and their families; Kelly and Greg Hardin of Horseshoe Bay, TX; Jami and David Redfearn, Steve Scheiderer and Sammie Bailey, David and Debbie Scheiderer, and Bruce and Brenda Scheiderer, all of Springfield, MO. Jan is also survived by her personal healthcare aide, Lisa Cornell, who she considered a very special family member.
