James Coday Walling, 63, Springfield, passed away Thursday in his home. He was born April 10, 1947, in Springfield, the son of Ralph C. and Effie L. Walling. He graduated from Marshall High School and later from Southwest Baptist University. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. James worked as a sales rep first in the pharmaceutical industry and later wholesale sporting goods. Currently, he was a member of the team at Lowe's North. He loved life and enjoyed spending time with his family, playing music, and fishing with Max. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Sharron, and son, Max; father, Ralph; brothers David (Vicky) and Paul (Becky); two aunts, a niece, a nephew and many cousins. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 11, at Covenant Presbyterian Church with The Reverend Ward Rudolph officiating, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church, or to help Max with his college expenses.
