James Edward Stone of Springfield, MO passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021 after a long battle with heart disease, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 10, 1938, to James Harvey and Mary Arlene (Zwer) Stone in Kenosha, WI. He graduated from the University of Missouri (Columbia) in 1959 and was a lifelong Mizzou Tiger fan. He moved to Springfield in 1962 and worked most of his career in Pharmaceutical Sales. After retirement, he drove Missouri State campus shuttle buses and limousines for Fisk Limousine Service. He was a parishoner at Saint Agnes Catholic Church for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Sara Colleen Stone, sisters Dorothy Hensgen, Dora Mae Bennett, Josie Schafer, and Mary Dillman, and brother John Stone. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Sara of the home, son Jeff (Brenda) Stone of Bentonville, AR, and daughters Michele (Mike) Bonnot of Springfield, MO, Cheryl (Sean) Donegan of Little Rock, AR, Tracy (Jerry) Ripley of Belleville, IL, and Debbie (George) Stone of Las Vegas, NV, and 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Frances Jackson, Grace Hill, Pat White, and brothers Henry, Mike, Rick, Mort, Andy, and Bruce Stone. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Agnes at 10am on Monday, December 6, 2021.
