James H. Schumacher of Springfield MO died Tuesday July 5, 2011 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born July 31, 1939 in Marshall MN. Jim is survived by his wife Millie Schumacher; sons, Larry Schumacher and wife Casey of Springfield IL, Dan Schumacher and wife Janie and Tom Schumacher and wife Jo Marie of Springfield MO; three stepchildren, Ann Saunders, husband David, Susan Childress, husband Doug of Monett Mo and Elizabeth Dawson, husband Heath of Springfield MO. Also surviving, his mother, Lola Schumacher; brother, Charles Schumacher of Waseca MN; sister Nancy Burnham, husband Craig of De Pere, WI; and sister Audrey Guion, husband Joe of Johnson City, TN. Jim was blessed with eight grandchildren, Matt, Nick, Nate, Mark Schumacher, Abby and Hannah Schumacher, Kaitlyn, and Stephanie Schumacher. Also 9 step grandchildren, David II, Lauren, Ryan, and John Saunders, Nicholas, Michael and Sarah Childress, Maximus Dawson and Alicia May. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Judith; his father, Joseph Schumacher, Sr.; and brother, Joseph Schumacher, Jr.; and five infant children. Jim spent his entire career in executive positions in the children's shoe business, working for Vaisey-Bristol Shoe Company, later known as Jumping-Jacks Shoes (a Division of United States Shoe Corporation), Reebok International in Boston, Weebok Division in the position of CEO. He came back to Jumping-Jacks Shoes division of Munro & Company as CEO of the children's division. Coming out of retirement to a consulting position with Nina Kids and finally retiring in 2007. Jim loved his family, his friends, boating, fishing, golf, hunting, sporting clays, motor sport racing and his dog, Gus. Visitation will be Sunday, July 10, 2011 from 4 to 7 p.m. with prayer service at 7:00 p.m., under the arrangements of Gorman-Scharpf, 1947 East Seminole in Springfield, MO 65804. Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2011 at St. Agnes Cathedral, 533 S. Jefferson Ave., Springfield MO 65804.
