The Reverend James Robinson, was born on April 29 ^th , 1929, in Oakdale, Louisiana, to the union of James H Robinson and Lillian Robinson, who later married Jesse Pugh.

He entered into the military at a young age. He then continued to proudly serve our country for 24 years, retiring with the rank of First Sergeant. Following the military, he worked for the railroad and retired after 18 years. He first became a pastor at Greater Metropolitan Baptist Church. He later moved on and primarily dedicated his time to bringing children to Christ at Bethel Baptist Church.

He departed this life on December 13 ^th , 2020 and is preceded in death by two brothers; Cleveland Robinson and Robert N. Robinson. As well as his grandson: James A. Robinson Jr., a.k.a JP.

James is survived by his sister, Dorothy Bell and his brother, Otis Robinson (Charlene). Four sons; Reginald Robinson (Joann), Christopher Butler, James A. Robinson Sr., and Rodney Robinson (Tommye). Three daughters; Valeria Jackson, Johanna Hernandez (Juan), and Nicole Sims (Walter). 22 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. A host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 12:30 pm in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 11:30 to 12:30 pm before the service. Burial with full military honors will follow the service at 2 pm in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
