Obituary

CPT James Guy Robertson, Jr. passed away September 22, 2021 in Brighton, MO after a long battle with lung cancer. It was a battle that he had fought before with throat cancer, but he lost this time.

He was born December 21, 1942 in Portsmouth, VA. He served his country for two years in the Coast Guard from the age of 17 when he decided he could walk farther than he could swim. He then joined the Army after a brief stint as a civilian. He served and worked his way up from PVT to Captain through field commission. He served three tours in Vietnam and was wounded severely, for which he received a Purple Heart. He served under cover several years as an Army Ranger, a Vietnamese trainer and many other jobs for his country for twenty years. He retired and became a trucker for the Marine Corps for seven years at Camp Lejeune, NC.

He left behind his wife of 34 years, two stepsons, four grandsons, three great grand daughters and many persons as members of his extended family, all of which he loved very much.

He was a very private person and was very kind to all he met. He wasn't always easy to get to know. We will surely miss him. We loved Jim and he will forever be missed.

Rest in peace.
