James H. Overstreet, 87, of Springfield, MO passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, August 28, 2021, in Mercy Hospital. He was born June 21, 1934, in Birmingham, Alabama, the son of William Thomas and Bonnie Lois (Pitts) Overstreet.

James loved golf and was an Alabama fan. "Roll Tide!"

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, and a granddaughter, Connie. James is survived by his wife, Veda Joy, Springfield, MO; three sons, James Howard Overstreet Jr., Birmingham, AL, David Thomas Overstreet, Springfield, MO and Daryl Ray Overstreet and wife, Jackie, Joplin, MO; daughter, Shannon Hobbs and husband Rob, Springfield, MO; ten grandchildren, David, Tyler, Lyndsay, Kayla, Bryant, Jacob, Leslea, Brianna, Evan and Gabe; and seven great-grandchildren, Chandler, Kateashton, Adelynn, Kaelynn, Benjamin, Amelia and Landon; one brother; and one sister.

Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ted Cederblom officiating.
