James Alfred Ollis passed away on February 24, 2025 at the age of 88.

He was born on May 28,1936 in Springfield, MO to Alfred and Aileen Ollis.

After graduating from Greenwood Laboratory High School he attended Drury University.

He worked at Heer's on the square in the men's suit department,  where he met the love of his life Charlotte.  They were married September 20,1959 where they were both faithful members of St Johns Episcopal Church in Springfield.

Jim worked at Springday, which was later bought out by Dayco.  He transferred to their home office in Dayton, Ohio as a senior buyer.

He retired from Dayco after 29 years.  After a few months of retirement, he decided to go back to retail and started working in mens suits for Elder-Beerman.

Jim & Charlotte decided to move back home to Springfield in 2005 so they could be closer to their grandchildren.

He then went to work for Macy's for an additional 10 years where he finally decided to retire for good this time.

In retirement, he delivered for Meals on Wheels for several years.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte; his parents Alfred & Aileen; brother Joe Ollis and his wife Judy.

He is survived by daughter Jackie and husband Greg McIntosh.  Grandchildren, Blake & wife Elizabeth McIntosh and Granddaughter Brooke McIntosh; Great Grandchildren Kelcie, Braden and Landon; Brother Larry Ollis and his wife Fay; nephews and cousins.

To know Jim was to love him.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

An informal visitation will be Thursday, 2/27 from 2pm-6pm at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral home.

A graveside service will be at Maple Park Cemetery Friday, 2/28 at 1pm, with Father Ron Keel officiating from St John's Episcopal Church.
