James Francis
Morris Ii
January 5, 1964 – January 13, 2026
James Frances Morris II, 62, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on January 13, 2026, after a courageous and long-fought battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Born on January 5, 1964, in Greene County, Missouri, James was the son of James F. “Jim” Morris and Constance “Connie” (Sawaryn) Morris. From his youth, James possessed a curious spirit, whether he was catching pollywogs at the local creek or embarking on memorable scuba diving trips with his father.
A pioneer in his field, James was the co-founder of Database Systems. His lifelong passion for computer technology and his enthusiasm for new advancements defined much of his professional life. In his personal time, he was an avid online gamer and recently found great joy in 3D printing, creating thoughtful gifts for those around him.
Despite the challenges of MS, James remained a beacon of positivity. He was known for his selfless nature, always prioritizing the well-being of others and maintaining a caring attitude that inspired everyone who knew him.
James was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Constance Kimberly “Kim” Wood. He is survived by his step-mother, Lorna Morris, brother-in-law, Neal Wood, and his three nephews, Spencer, Maxwell, and Griffin Wood, along with a community of extended family, caregivers, friends and colleagues who will miss him dearly.
James’ journey reminds us of the ongoing fight against MS. Please join us in supporting the National Multiple Scleroses Society’s mission to cure MS and empower lives, keeping their legacy alive.
