James Michael "Mike" Krause, 82 of Springfield passed away at 1:25 pm Thursday, July 28, 2022.  He was born August 1, 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri to Kenneth Frances Krause and Virginia L. Krause.

He attended Shawnee Mission High School and held a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  Mike was a member of Springfield Dog Training Club, Springfield Rod & Gun Club, Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants, Young Republicans of Kansas and Society of Medical-Dental Management.

Mike raced cars in his youth and was an avid car restorer and instilled that love of cars in both of his sons. He was an avid skeet and trap shooter and bird hunter.  Mike loved dogs and was a preliminary trainer for service dogs, held tracking, obedience and hunting titles on multiple dogs.  He was a private pilot that enjoyed both flying and soaring. He enjoyed traveling, vacations and his family.

Mike was a loving husband and a devoted father that always made time for his children.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Frances Krause, Jr; niece, Kathy Krause and nephew, David Krause.

Mike is survived by his wife, Carolyn Anne Krause of the home; two sons, Jon Michael Krause and wife, Gayle of Lebanon, and Kenneth James Krause of Springfield; a sister, Sue Finley of Carmel, California; two nieces, Deb Mclaren and Karen Mesmer of Leawood, Kansas; grandchildren, Mandy Nicole Bick and husband, Joshua Bick, Ashley Jean Krause, and Michael Aaron Krause and wife, Janea; great-grandchildren, Patricia Elizabeth Bick, Jaylen Michael Johnston, Penelope Rose Bick and Charlotte Reign Bick.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 8, 2022 at 10 am in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with the Reverend Al Whitehead officiating.  Burial will follow in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 1-3 pm at the funeral home.
