Dr. James B. Laird, 66, of Brookline, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2013, in his home. Dr. Laird was born in Peoria, IL, September 27th, 1946, to Dr. Glover and Mary Jo Laird. He graduated from Kansas State School of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. Dr. Laird established CountrySide Pet Clinic in Springfield, MO in 1988, where he practiced until his death. James was preceded in death by his parents, son James and sister Susan. He is survived by his wife Karen, daughter Melanie and grandchildren Brandon, Brianna, Madeline, Camille and sisters Janet and Nancy. Memorial Services will be held at 7pm Monday, January 14, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2756 South Blackman Road, Springfield. No Visitation is scheduled. Memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society of Southwest Missouri. Arrangements are by Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
