Dr. James M. Wilbur, Jr., Emeritus Professor of Chemistry at MSU passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on January 25th, 2024, in Springfield, MO. He was born October 31, 1929 to Mary and James M. Wilbur, Sr. in Philadelphia, PA. Jim obtained a BS degree from Muhlenberg College in 1951, and PhD in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania in 1959 and worked as Professor of Chemistry, teaching Organic and Polymer Chemistry along with undergraduate research at MSU (1963-1992). He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Ann Bolmgren. Survivors include his children Kirsten, Karen, and Eric and his 6 grandchildren, Mitchell, Susanna, Anna Marie, Thomas, Keegan and Bailey along with 5 great grandchildren.
