James Dean Heatherly of Springfield passed away on Dec. 28th at Cox South at the age of 50. He was born on Dec. 26th, 1964 at St. Johns Hospital, in Springfield to J.D. and Eula Heatherly. Jim was a very hard worker and married his loving wife, Debbie on Dec. 18, 2004. Jim fought hard to make it to his 50th birthday. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Ronnie. He is survived by his caring wife Debbie (who was always there for him); two sons James Dale and Eric Johnson; daughter Andrea and her husband Eddie Popovits, two grandchildren, Ashtyn Bradley (who loved her Papa Honey) and Austin Popovits; his loving mother-in-law Vera Haynes, one brother Dan and Wendy Mahurin; three sisters, Carol and Larry Cook, Judy and Ken Gish and Susie and James Frieze; along with several nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 2, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Memorial contribution may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
