James V. Haral, 80, Springfield, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017 in Springfield Rehabilitation Center. He was born February 11, 1937 in Springfield, the son of James V. and Gladys Marie Haral.
James worked as a dispatch supervisor with Zenith and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He loved being around people, and he spent every weekday morning for his last 25 years with the gang at McDonalds. He was happiest when he was talking, whether it was about classic cars, family history, or modern technology.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 56 years, Jeanie M. (Farrar) Haral; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Randy Christian; two grandchildren, Marc and Shannon; and two sisters, Sandra (of Springfield) and Janice (of Florida).
Graveside services with full military honors will be held in Missouri Veterans Cemetery under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you perform a random act of kindness because James never turned down someone who needed a little help in this life.
