James Lavell Dobson was born February 20, 1988, in Springfield, Mo. to Yolanda Jean Dobson. Lavell was called home on April 15, 2009. He is preceded in death by grandparents Betty and James Dobson. He accomplished many things in life including being active in football and basketball. He earned a scholarship to Northwestern Missouri University where he attended until he fell ill. He is survived by two brothers, Challon of Waynesville, Mo., and DeAvion of Springfield, Mo.; two sisters, Teyondra and Ashanti, both of Springfield, Mo.; foster mother, Patricia Minter of Monroe City, Mo. whom he lived with from an early age up until he went away to college, and life companion, Jamie Woodall and the Woodall family of Monroe City, Mo. He is also survived by a host of family members and friends from both Springfield, Mo. and Monroe City, Mo. Services will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2009, in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 Wednesday before services.
