James Columbus Freeman was born February 3, 1942, to James Arastus Freeman and Verna Rosalene Bell. He passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015. As a child, his family moved to Mountain Grove, MO, where his parents owned a store and farmed. He graduated from Mountain Grove High School. "J.C." worked a number of years at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, KS, and for the past 17 years at IWX Motor Freight in Springfield, MO. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Freeman, of Springfield; four children, James Freeman (DeeDee) of Mountain Grove, MO, Tamara Snyder (Dennis) of Wichita, KS, Terrena Collins (Terry) and Michael Freeman of Lebanon, MO; two step-sons, Kelly and Kevin Woods of Springfield; one sister, Vera Collins (Charles) of Wichita, KS; one brother, Roger Freeman (Jana) of Enid, OK; 26 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; very special friends, Russ and Beverly Crapenhoft and Ruby Broshears of Springfield. His parents and one daughter, Tracy, preceded him in death. J.C. loved his Mustangs and was a member of the Greater Ozarks Mustang Club for many years. He also loved animals and nature. At his request, J.C. will be cremated. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in his memory to the Humane Society, or other local animal shelters.
