James Norman Capps, 65, of Ash Grove, MO, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017 in Ash Grove Health Care Center. He was born December 9, 1951 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Clarence Richard and Kathryn Mary (McClellan) Capps. He retired from the KU Medical Center dietary kitchen. James had a passion for fire departments and fire trucks.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Capps; and his brother Casey Ryan Capps.

James is survived by his sister, Judy Malloy.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, Springfield.
