Jacquelyn Jean Faenger, age 81, of Springfield, Missouri passed away at Cox South, on November 28, 2024 at 1:05 AM. Born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 23, 1943 to Willard Goodale Peterson and Mildred Rose Peterson (Alexander), Jacquelyn blessed everyone she met with her loving and generous heart.
Jacquelyn graduated from Affton High School in 1961 and attended Central Methodist College. After college, she worked at McDonnell Aircraft Corporation where she met Robert Faenger. They were married on November 28, 1964 and had two children, Christopher and Laura. The family lived in Ballwin, MO, Kankakee, IL and finally made their home in Springfield, MO in 1982. Jacquelyn was a receptionist, secretary, notary public, licensed insurance agent, and Investor. Together Jacquelyn and Robert celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Jacquelyn was a member of Wesley Methodist Church, The Air and Military Museum of the Ozarks, The Civil War Round Table of the Ozarks, and her much beloved Girl Scout Troop 1101 of St. Louis.
Jacquelyn was a devoted, loyal, generous, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She had faith in people, faith in the Lord, and was selfless in everything she did. She always had a smile for anyone she met and lived a life full of joy. One of her greatest joys was spending cherished time with her husband, children, and friends. Her granddaughter, Alyssa, had a special place in her heart and brought her great joy and happiness. She adored her dogs and had a great love of birds and nature.
She found joy in ceramic painting, crafts, holidays, gardening, fishing, camping, traveling, and decorating beautiful cakes for family and friends. She especially loved baking bread, cakes, and pies for her co-workers, firefighters, police officers, doctors, bankers, and anyone else to show appreciation and kindness. She was quick with jokes and loved to make people feel special. She had a beautiful heart and was loved by everyone she knew. Her generous spirit found an outlet in giving to many charitable organizations over the years.
She was preceded in death by her father Willard Peterson, mother Mildred Peterson, sister Susan Peterson, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Faenger, her son, Christopher (Amy) Faenger of Kansas City, MO daughter, Laura (Bill) May of Monett, MO, granddaughter, Alyssa May, sister, Joyce (Ernie) Baker of Monument, CO, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cousins.
Jacquelyn will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in Springfield, MO Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 12:00 with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:00. Burial will be held at Spring River Cemetery in Verona, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Air and Military Museum of the Ozarks and Wesley United Methodist Church.
