Jacob (Jake) David Gunderson of Springfield, MO, beloved son of Theresa and Greg Gunderson, died Saturday, July 11, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Jake was born December 18, 1985 in Springfield, MO. He attended Springfield Public Schools and graduated from Kickapoo High School in 2004. Jake loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Patricia Boyle Ernstmann and his paternal grandfather, Bruce Gunderson. He is survived by his loving parents, his maternal grandfather, Leonard Ernstmann; and his paternal grandmother Bernice Gunderson and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and his girlfriend Amanda Hopkins. The family and Jake's many friends will miss him and love him always. He is forever in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southwest Missouri Humane Society, 3161 W. Norton Road, Springfield, MO 65803. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 14, with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Memorial services will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM in the funeral home.
