Jacqueline Lucille "Jackie" (Putman) Harmon, 86, of Springfield, passed away Friday, August 8, 2014 in Mercy Hospital. She was born July 7, 1928 in Fair Grove, MO the daughter of Orin and Mamie Coffee Putman. She is survived by three sons, Mark Harmon, St. Louis, MO, Bill Harmon, Springfield, MO and Joe Harmon and wife Cheri Meyer, Kansas City, MO; a daughter, Julie Conway, Springfield, MO; two sisters, June Kaufman and Leota Beutler, Springfield, MO and six grandchildren, Kelly Brian, Sean and Ian Harmon and Will and Ben Conway. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Janine Michelle Harmon; a brother, Michael Putman and a sister Mary Price. Jackie was a graduate of Fair Grove High School, St. John's School of Nursing and in 1974 earned her BSN from Drury College. During her career she worked at Visiting Nurse's Association, OACAC Home Healthcare and St. John's Hospital where she retired in 1991. She later volunteered at The Kitchen Clinic. Jackie celebrated her strong belief in God and the Catholic Church as an active member of St. Agnes Cathedral, where she served on the Parish Council of Catholic Women, the Altar Society and as a Eucharistic Minister. Jackie loved to cook, sing and listen to music, and spend time with her family, particularly her children and grandchildren. To her children and grandchildren she provided unwavering support and unconditional love along with a great sense of humor, all of which will be greatly missed. Funeral mass will be on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Agnes Cathedral with Msgr. Thomas Reidy, celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Comfort Cemetery. A prayer service will be held Sunday, August 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation following until 4:00 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
