Jack Warren Rauhoff, Sr., was 88 years old when he died on Friday, December 3, 2010. Jack was born October 24, 1922, in Humbolt, Kan., to Harry Jackson Rauhoff and Buna C. (Summers) Rauhoff. Jack attended Chanute High School in Kansas. He also attended Coffeyville Kansas Junior College and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1946. Jack married Wilma Jean Schooler on February 14, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois. They had four children, Jack, Judy, Jim and Joe; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Jack worked in the oil industry for thirty-four years in accounting, sales and refinery management. He was also a lifetime member of the Elks (BPOE), president of Wichita Oil Men's Club and Springfield Oil Men's club. Jack loved to play the piano and played in various dance bands from the age of 17 to 83. The most recent band, "The Old Smoothies", from 1982 to 2006. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Wilma "Jean"; his son, Jim; and three sisters. His survivors are two sons, Jack Jr. and Joseph Rauhoff; one daughter, Judy Asher; one sister, JoAnne Harrison of Euless, Texas; eight, grandchildren, and five, great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2010 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with Father Fergus Managhan, officiating. Jack Warren Rauhoff, Sr.
