Obituary

Paul B. "Jack" Campbell, Jr., was born to Paul an Zola Campbell on July 16, 1930. He graduated from Strafford High School in 1949. Jack married Mary Margaret Bodenhamer on February 26, 1950, in the home of Russell and Doris Bodenhamer in Springfield, Mo., and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage. Jack was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Jack is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; daughter, Jeanette Mooney and her husband Cecil, Springfield, Mo.; son, R. Stanley Campbell, Strafford, Mo.; son, Richard Campbell and his wife Sara, Strafford, Mo.; daughter, Susan Mitchell and her husband Gary, Republic, Mo.; daughter, Shelly Chaney and her husband Ken, Marshfield, Mo.; grandchildren, Jason Black, Springfield, Maggie and Craig Coppenbarger, Strafford, Whitney and Chad Griffin, Republic, Jackson Campbell, Strafford, Michael Chaney, Marshfield, and Chelsea Mitchell, Republic; great-granddaughter, Gigi Coppenbarger, Strafford, sister, Martha Easterly and her husband Bill, Strafford, Nancy McGehee and her husband Richard, Conway, Mo.; brother-in-law, Kenneth Bodenhamer, Springfield; sister-in-law, Doris Bodenhamer, Springfield; aunts, Almeda Minor and Jo Dishman, Springfield; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Jack was a dairy farmer with his father, Paul, for 26 years. Then in 1971, Jack's son, Stanley, started farming with him. The farm is still in operation today in Strafford, Mo., and earned the Distinguished Dairy Cattle Breeder Award and is listed in the Missouri Dairy Hall of Honors. Jack enjoyed sports, especially watching the Missouri State University Lady Bears. The family wishes to thank Preferred Hospice and Strafford Care Center for their care and compassion during Jack's stay in Strafford Care Center. Memorial contributions may be made through Second Baptist Church, Springfield, Mo., designated for Harvest Hill Baptist Church or Victory Garden, or donor's choice. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2010, in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Burial will follow in Danforth Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
