Jack E. Allen, 84, Springfield, born Sept. 15, 1929 in Galena, MO to Leonard & Virgie Allen, passed away May 5, 2014. Jack was a WWII Vet who proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp from 1946 to 1949. He was a lifelong Mason, twice Past Master of the Paul Revere Lodge in Chicago, and a Shriner in Springfield. His lifelong career was in real estate sales and management. Jack loved music, fishing, and gardening. He was well known for his gift of gab, many stories, and he never met a stranger. He loved the Lord and devoted his life to God and family. He was preceded in death by his parents - Leonard and Virgie Allen, his brothers - Charlie, Dewey, Jim, Frank, and Bill Allen, and sisters - Florence Cummings, Gladys Maley, Joan Cook, and Beverly Roberts. He is survived by his wife of 35 years - Doris, his sons - Dan and Fred Allen, his daughters - Barbara Elkins, Diane Rance, and Connie Walker, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, his sisters - Bonnie Hackett, and Pauline Woods, and a host of other family and friends. Interment will be at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery. Celebration of life visitation will be on Tuesday, May 13, from 2-4:00 pm, at his last place of residence -The Montclair, 1000 E.
