Obituary

Forrest Herndon, 90, of Springfield, passed away at 4:00 pm on May 26, 2016 in Springfield. Forrest was born in Stone County to Pearlie and Mabel (Seaton) Herndon on January 11, 1926. On August 26, 1947 he married and is survived by Nena Doran, whom he adored and loved all his life. He is also survived by three children; Bruce, married to René, Dr. Lynn, married to Cindy, and Brenda, married to Brian Neuhaus. He had eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

He was a member of Glenstone Baptist Church for 53 years where he served as a deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and choir member. He worked for Kraft Foods in Nixa and Springfield for 42 years. He was dearly loved by his friends and family and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lucille Rice (Eugene); and brothers James (Pat) and Eugene (Martha).

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, with Pastor Patrick Ward officiating. There will be a visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Glenstone Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
