IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ivan Dean
Fox
August 3, 1926 – January 25, 2020
Ivan Dean Fox, 93 of Springfield, MO departed from his earthly body to his heavenly home on January 25, 2020. He was the youngest of children born to Stella Ann (Price) and Fred Joe Fox on August 3, 1926 in Elkland, MO.
After 72 years of marriage he is survived by his loving wife Alice M. Fox (Suttle) of Springfield, MO; a centenarian brother, Tom Fox , Springfield, MO ; daughters Mary Saunders, Neilton, WA; Linda Arredondo, Kansas City, MO; and Julia Dyche (Charlie) of Neilton, WA; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Ivan grew up and attended school in Nixa, MO. After joining the military at a young age he was very proud to have served two tours of duty in the US Navy during both WWII and the Korean War. He had a long career as an electronics school instructor while raising three daughters in the Kansas City, MO area. He generously repaired many televisions for family and friends and was always willing to help.
He enjoyed long vacations in the travel trailer with his wife in Texas and Arizona, and loved camping and fishing at Harry S. Truman Lake where he worked as Berry Bend Campground host.
He was an inquisitive intellectual and avid reader and never stopped gathering information and learning new things. A love of reading conspiracy theory stories and true crime novels stemmed from his brief career as a private detective immediately following his US Navy service.
After retirement he moved to Springfield, MO and was a member of South Haven Baptist Church, attending services as long as his health permitted.
