May 18, 1942 – June 24, 2019
Iva Mae (Ivy) Wilfong passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019 at the age of 77.
Ivy was born on May 18, 1942 in Streator, IL to Harley and Velma (Davisson) Snow. She graduated from Chatsworth, IL High School and ultimately settled in Bloomington, IL where she met and married Jim Wilfong on March 26, 1965. They had one daughter, Ronda. In 1970, Jim and Ivy moved to Conway, MO, where Ivy worked as a homemaker. Her true passions were her family, her work for her church, and her work for the Women's Athletic Program at Missouri State University, for which she was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in March 2019. The greatest joy in her life was being Grammy to her only grandchild, Quincey.
Ivy was preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Velma; two sisters, Lois and Doris; two brothers, Dale and Don; and two nephews. She is survived by her husband Jim; her daughter and son-in-law, Ronda and Harry Gray; her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Quincey and Adison Nicholas; two brothers, Tom and Ron, one sister, Velda, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Ivy will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in Springfield, MO at 4:00 PM. Her remains will be interred at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Mary Jo Wynn Scholarship Fund at MSU, or Regional Hospice of Springfield, MO.
