Inez Houston Ellis Tillman was born on June 14, 1929 in Van Buren, Missouri to Ray Houston and Alice Bales and went to be with her Savior on January 31, 2014. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Portland, Oregon and attended Oregon State University and Arkansas State University. Affectionately known as "Tezzie", she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved life every day and never complained. She was a member of King's Way United Methodist Church, Twin Oaks Country Club, P.E.O. Chapter F.T., S.M.M.A. "Home Design" Art Group and many Investment and Supper clubs. She loved to play bridge, travel and most importantly, loved her family. Inez was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Alice Houston; first husband, Jack Ellis; brothers, David and Bales Houston, and granddaughter, Carrie Elizabeth Ellis. She will be deeply missed by her devoted husband of 15 years, Charles H. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E Seminole, Springfield, MO 65804. A second visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2014 with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Chaplain Jeffrey David Houston officiating.
