Obituary

Imogene Wilson departed this world at warp speed headed for her heavenly home Monday afternoon, November 8, 2021, surrounded by her family.  She was 89 years old.  Imogene was born February 16, 1932, to Jess and Cora (Blades) Andrus, one of nine children.  She was still a child when she lost both parents.  Nadine, the eldest sister and new husband (Leo) took her in along with two other younger siblings.  Imogene married Clell Wilson on January 2, 1954, and they remained together until his death in November 1970.  Their union produced two children, Christine and Jeannie, who survive.

Imogene is preceded in death by her husband Clell, her siblings; Verna Mae Albin, Nadine (Leo) Wilson, JD (Beckie) and John (Mary) Andrus, Carley (Ann) Andrus, Joan (Bill) Logan and two infants.  She is survived by children, Jeannie (David) Walden and Christine Maples (David Andrus); a brother Kenneth (Rusty) Andrus; five FINE favorite grandsons: Ryan (Michelle) Frazier, Donnie Martin and Melinda, Duane (Jerri) Martin, Robert (Mindy) Frazier, and David (Kristin) Martin.  In addition, ten great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, friends, the best neighbors, Bob & Connie Ellingsworth and her "Keeper" all whom she loved dearly.

In her early working years, she was a hairdresser for a minute.  Clell was co-owner of Gateway Café in Spokane until his passing and Imogene was the best cook, supporter, and bouncer he "employed".   She began working at Fasco Industries in 1967 and retired after 29 years only to take on her most important role of caring for her great-grandchildren.

Imogene was saved at a young age, loved the Lord, and cussed a little.  She loved to listen to Hosea Bilyeu on the radio, John Hagee and Matt Dillon on tv.  Her greatest love and steadfast focus was her family.  If you were one of Granny's you would be housed, clothed, fed, rocked, loved on, nursed, and spanked whenever you needed it.  We were all loved unconditionally, she was our rock, the glue that bonded the family.  She was so ready to go home but we are so sad to lose her.

Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 12 with a service immediately following at 3:00 p.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, Pastor Hosea Bilyeu officiating.  Burial will follow in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eden Village, P.O. Box 2364, Springfield, MO  65801.
