Imogene Woolford Rook,90, Camden TN, formerly of Springfield MO, passed away Sept 20, 2014 at Jackson-Madison County Hospital after a lengthy illness. Imogene was born Sept 4, 1924 in St Louis MO to Samuel Bertram Woolford and Nellie May Josephine Royston Woolford. She graduated from Springfield Senior High (now Central High) in 1942. She then attended State Teachers College (now Missouri State University) graduating with degrees in International Languages and History. She married George Willis Rook July 1, 1955. They had 3 children, Benjamin Burton, Teresa Ann, and John Christopher. Imogene worked at Bell Telephone for 14 years before she left to raise her family. She was a member, of White Shrine, Eastern Star, Metro Club and past president of Greene Valley PTO. She worked with Special Olympics, and Park Board Program for the handicapped. At 87 years old, she started a new chapter in her life, moving from Springfield MO to Parsons TN to be closer to her daughter. During her time there she got to go to the Ryman Auditorium, Loretta Lynns home, and the Smokey Mountains. She loved the old plantation homes and the slower pace of life in the south. Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Bertram and Nellie May Josephine Royston Woolford, a sister Novagene Woolford Whaley, her husband George Willis Rook, and a son John Christopher Rook. She leaves behind a son Ben Rook, Springfield MO, and a daughter and her husband, Teresa and Jim Baugues, Holladay TN, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of cousins and friends.
